Spark Ads codes: what they are and how to use them
Spark Ads is a TikTok feature that lets you promote a post already published on a creator's account, so the ad runs under the creator's name and account instead of your brand's.
A Spark Ads code is a code the creator generates in the TikTok app for a specific post on their account and gives to the advertiser, who then uses that same post as a paid ad in TikTok Ads Manager. The ad appears under the creator's name, and the engagement goes to their post.
How do Spark Ads differ from a regular ad?
With a regular ad, you upload the video to Ads Manager yourself, and it appears under your brand's name. With Spark Ads, the video is first published on the creator's account, then you promote it, so it runs under the creator's name and account with a sponsored label.
Many advertisers prefer Spark Ads because the ad feels closer to the platform's natural content. On the other hand, the ad depends on the post staying on the creator's account for the duration of the promotion.
How do you get the code?
- Agree with the creator that they'll post on their account and generate a Spark Ads code, and specify how long you need it for.
- The creator publishes the video on their TikTok account.
- The creator turns on ad authorization for the post in the post settings, generates the code for the agreed duration, and sends it to you.
- You add the code in TikTok Ads Manager when creating the ad and select the post.
Spark Ads on UGCeer
Every UGCeer creator states on their profile whether they offer posting on their account and a Spark Ads code, and you can select this when you order. If your ad account is linked with us through TikTok One, our team can help with the setup.
